Paul Chen Sir William Marshall Sword
by Hanwei
Item # RCCASSH2000TS
The Paul Chen Sir William Marshall Sword
The single-hand Sir William Marshall Sword sets new standards of quality and authenticity in broadsword construction.
The sword is based on an original , now in a British musuem , used by one of England’s finest knights,
Sir William Marshall, who served the crown faithfully under Henry II , Richard the Lionheart and Jack Lackland. The singlehand Sir William Marshall Sword is available with either a forged high-carbon steel blade (below) or a forged - folded Swedish powder steel Damascus blade ( orderable upon request - $819.00 ). Both blades are identical in handling characteristics and both are tempered to a tough HRC 52. The blade section features a central ridged fuller and full-length distal taper - a tough test for the bladesmith but resulting in a superb combination of speed and strength. The grip is leather wrapped and laced and the guard and pommel are elegant in their functional simplicity. The scabbard is leather covered with steel mounts. Truly a sword for the connoisseur.
This fully functional broad sword is tailored to meet the demands of re-enactment and stage combat.

Paul Chen Practical Single Hand Sword
by Hanwei
Item # RCCASSH2046TS
The Paul Chen Practical Single Hand Sword
The Practical Single-Hand Sword is based on the
Sir William Marshall sword ,
so named for one of England’s finest knights of the latter half of the 12th century.
The sword is classically styled , with a cruciform hilt , wheel pommel and a ridged and fullered blade that is both stiff and surprisingly light. With a weight of less than 2 ½ lbs. , the sword can be wielded forcefully without undue wear and tear on the arm.
The Practical SingleHand Sword is styled on authentic historical swords but it is tailored to meet the needs of the re-enactor for stage combat at a very affordable price. This very popular and affordable weapon features authentic hilt styling , with a fully tempered un-edged and un-pointed blade.
The Practical Single Hand Sword is designed to withstand rugged use while providing the level of safety required
by many of today’s re-enactment societies. The blade is crafted from 1065 high-carbon steel ,
hardened to HRC 50 , which restricts edge notching to acceptable levels while providing resilience and
protection against brittleness. While the blade is substantial , it is fullered to provide balance and good handling characteristics.
The Practical SingleHand Sword blade features 1/16" wide edges and a rounded tip for safety.
The tang is also substantial , with radiused corners at the blade shoulder and no welds. The end of the tang is riveted over the pommel , which both eliminates any possibility of inadvertent disassembly and provides a traditional means of tightening a loose hilt. The hardwood grip is leather covered. The scabbard is fabricated in glass-filled resin, to provide great impact resistance , to eliminate swelling and to minimize blade corrosion problems. The scabbard now features belt rings that adjust to allow vertical or horizontal carry. The wood-grain finish is attractive, but most re-enactors will decorate the scabbard to match their persona.
This fully functional broad sword is tailored to meet the demands of re-enactment and stage combat.
Overall Length: 36 1/2"

The Paul Chen Practical Viking Sword by Hanwei
The Paul Chen Practical Viking sword by Hanwei is based on the Godfred sword , whose design originated in 9th century Scandinavia. The lobate pommel and down-turned guard are typical of Viking swords of the period, as is the broad blade with its deep, full-length fullers. The sword is well-balanced and, with a weight slightly over 2 lbs., it is very quick.

Richard the Lion Heart Sword
by Marto of Toledo Spain
24 Kt Gold and Silver Plated
Item # RCMA753TS
The Richard the Lion Heart Sword by Marto of Toledo Spain
The traditional image of King Richard the Lionheart , the second Plantagenet King of England ,
has come to us through the centuries as a glorious crusader and knight.
Captured by the Austrian Emperor Leopold, he was later rescued by the young trouvador Blondel ,
who discovered Richard when singing a famous ballad.
King Richard was called "Lionheart" at the beginning of the Third Crusade , when King Phillip of France
was compared with a lamb and Richard with a lion.
King Richard the Lionheart convinced his officers in Winchester , around a round table ,
of having belonged to King Arthur´s legend and having the magical sword Excalibur.
Richard was a generous knight and a wise politician , but above all a great soldier.
His own personal ability was a source of inspiration to his men in battle.
For all his bravery , King Richard the Lionheart died foolishly. King Richard the Lionheart thought that
an archer who was aiming at him was waving. When King Richard returned the wave , the archer shot him.

The Gold Deluxe Templar Sword by Marto of Toledo Spain
The Templar Order was established in
1118 to ensure the custody of the Holy places and to protect the pilgrimage
routes.
The Templar Order reached it's maximum splendour in the 13th
century.
The knights Templar considered themselves as knights
of God, protectors of the church and christianity.
Their motto was:"NON NOBIS, DOMINE, NON NOBIS,
SED TUO NOMINI DA GLORIAM". "Give Glory, not for us, God,
not for us, but for your name".
The Templar Knights fought along side King Richard I (Richard The Lion Hearted) and
other Crusaders in the battles for the Holy Lands.
The Templars were a very well organized military force and they were the clash
forces in all the Crusades.
The Templar Knights were in the vanguard during the attacks and in
the rearguard during the retreats.
During one century they ensured the effective government
of the latin kingdom of Constantinople. The Templar Knights did not pay taxes or tributes,
obeyed only the Pope and they had properties in all of Europe
and the Middle East.

The Gold Masonic Sword by Marto of Toledo Spain
Throughout history, as an instrument of justice, truth, equality and firmness, swords have been used
at every great event and have become imbued with great symbolism. For this reason,
freemasons use swords in all their ceremonies.
FREEMASONRY: "a philanthropic, philosophic and forward-looking institution intended
to achieve an understanding of truth, the study of ethics and the practice of solidarity, working
for the material and moral improvement of humanity, it is compatible with any religious or esoteric
faith which does not annul the freedom of individuals".
Starting from the tradition of freemason builders harking back to the
"mediaeval masons and architects", freemasonry pursues the personal self-construction
of the individual.
This unique FREEMASON SWORD contains a great
many of the symbols used in the craft, particularly the compass and
set square, the plumb line and the hammer, the sacred book and the eye
of the Supreme Being, and the five-pointed star inscribed in the capital
"G" of the Great Architect.
"WHAT YOU MAKE MAKES YOU"
The meaning of the masonic symbols
The Square symbolizes things of the earth, and it also symbolizes honor, integrity, truthfulness, and the other ways we should relate to this world and the people in it. The Compasses symbolize things of the spirit, and the importance of a good and well-developed spriritual life, and also the importance of self control - of keeping ourselves within bounds. The G stands for Geometry, the science which the ancients believed most revealed the glory of God and His works in the heavens, and it also stands for God, Who must be at the center of all our thoughts and of all our efforts.

The Claymore , or "Claidheamh-mor" (Great Sword) in Gaelic is a two handed broad sword utilized by the Scottish Highlander throughout several centuries. Used in the constant clan warfare and border fights with the English from the 1400's to 1650 and still in use as late as the Rebellion of 1745, the two-handed Claymore seems to be an offshoot of earlier broadswords as they were developed into great swords.
The Claymore was feared because of its strength and size. It was said that the bearer of a Claymore sword needed no shield because the reach of the sword provided its own protection. Today, the claymore sword stands as a great symbol of Scottish heritage.

The Claymore Sword by Marto of Spain
Jacob I (1394-1437). King of Scotland, was crowned in 1424 in Scone.
Jacob I decreased the power of the feudal lords after overwhelming the Albany clan , because
of the conspiracies against him when he was a child. Under his rule the scotish laws were codified
and a system of weights and measures were set. Jacob I , a remarkable poet , was asassinated
by Sir Robert Graham in a conspiracy. For his bravery in the battle
and "strong hand" for ruling his country, Jacob I was called "the
Lion of Scotland".
Marto , a fine spanish sword manufacturer located in Toledo , Spain , presents

The Gold King Solomon Sword by Marto of Toledo Spain
Solomon , King of Israel
King Solomon was the second son of Uria's wife ,
Betsabe , whom his father, King David , had married after orchestrating his death.
King Solomon reigned in Israel between 970 and 931
B.C. and was known and respected as a wise , fair and powerful king.
King Solomon raised the Israelite monarchy to
the maximum grade of prosperity. King Solomon built the Jerusalem Temple , and
a wall around the city as well as cultivated the sciences and the arts.
It is told in history that there
was a case in which two women were fighting for a child and King Solomon ,
in order to find out which one was telling the truth , gave his sword
to a soldier and ordered him to split the baby in two , giving one half
to each of the women.
The real mother begged the king not to

Historical Swords by Marto Swords of Toledo Spain
Arabic Scimitar Cutlass Sword by Marto of Toledo Spain Price: 528.99 SFMA582SThe Scimitar, from the persian word shamshir - lion's tail, is the Arabian/Moorish version of the Cutlass sword. The scimitar was used by the Muslim armies during the period of the Crusades and it is later considered to be typical of Arab horseman. The Scimitar is a sword with a short curved single-edged blade, broadest at the point end. Although the scimitar was used by both Turks and Persians, many Islamic traditions adopted scimitars, as attested by their symbolic occurrence, on the Coat of arms of Saudi Arabia or the Coat of arms of East Timor. There were various shapes to the cutlass in past times and there was an important Toledan production of them during the Moorish period in Spain. The Arabic Scimitar Cutlass Sword by Marto of Toledo Spain is a reproduction of a cutlass that can be found in the "Museo del Ejercito" in Madrid Spain. Its main characteristics are the crossward, which raises to the handle on one side and descends to the blade on the other side, and its wide curved blade. This wonderfully stylized cutlass is a reminder that Toledo Spain was an important center of sword production during these historical Arab Islamic periods. The 420 stainless steel blade measures 25" in length and 4-1/2" across at the widest point of its tip. Overall length of this beautifully detailed collectors cutlass is 32-1/4".

Catholic King's Sword by Marto of Toledo Spain Price: 599.99 SFMA335.1SThe Catholic King's Sword by Marto of Toledo Spain is a reproduction of the great sword kept in the Real Armeria in Madrid, made in the 15th century, during the reign of Ferdinand II of Aragon and Isabelle of Castile and used in solemn court occasions until the 18th century. The Catholic Kings Sword by Marto of Toledo Spain is one of the most spectacular swords in Spanish History. With this sword, the Catholic Monarchs Ferdinand and Isabella, knighted Christopher Columbus on his return from his first voyage to America. In the Throne Hall of the Royal Palace in Barcelona, Columbus was named "Admiral of the Ocean" and "Viceroy of the Indies". This ceremonial sword was used as the symbol of the royal power in all religious and political ceremonies, since the conquest of Grenada and the beginning of Spain as a nation. The motto "Tanto Monta, Monta Tanto" appeared on the Spanish Royal Standard of the Catholic Kings from 1492-1506. The motto refers to both Catholic monarchs: Isabella and Ferdinand and loosely translates to: "As much as the one is worth, so much is the other" meaning that both King and Queen held equal authority. It was seen on the Spanish flags that Christopher Columbus brought to the New World. Later the motto was changed to "Plus Ultra" which is Latin for "More Beyond" referring to Spain and her lands in the Americas.

Emperor Frederick I Barbarossa (Redbeard) Sword by Marto of Toledo Spain Price: 502.99 SFMA566SFrederick I, Holy Roman Emperor Frederick I Barbarossa (born 1122; Died 10 June 1190) was elected King of Germany at Frankfurt on 4 March 1152 and crowned in Aachen on 9 March, crowned King of Italy in Pavia in 1154, and finally crowned Holy Roman Emperor by Pope Adrian IV on 18 June 1155. Frederick I was crowned King of Burgundy at Arles on 30 June 1178. The name Barbarossa came from the northern Italian cities he attempted to rule, and means "red beard".Before his royal election, Frederick I was by inheritance Duke of Swabia (1147û1152, as Frederick III). He was the son of Duke Frederick II of the Hohenstaufen dynasty. His mother was Judith, daughter of Henry IX, Duke of Bavaria, from the rival House of Welf, and Frederick therefore descended from Germany's two leading families, making him an acceptable choice for the Empire's prince-electors.The Pope Clemente III (1187 - 1191) promoted the third Crusade in which three kings took part: Frederick I Barbarossa of Germany, Phillip II of France, and Richard I Lionheart of England. Frederick received his name for the color of his hair. He was brave and valiant. After defeating many enemy armies, he was the first one to arrive at the walls of Jerusalem, but he could not fulfill his conquest because he drowned in a river on June 10, 1190. His two allies, King Richard the Lionhearted and King Phillip II had to come back to their countries. The conspiracy of John Landless and the conflicts between France and England made their return necessary. The Emperor Frederick I Barbarossa (Redbeard) Sword by Marto of Toledo Spain has a tempered steel blade, ornated with 24K Gold engravings on its upper part. The hilt is made in Bronze plated cast metal with short, straight quillons, decored with relief figures, as the nut shaped pommel surmounted by two kneeled knights.
